We've spent years figuring out how to build in the mountains without fighting them. Turns out, the landscape knows what it's doing.
Mountain Architecture Since 2009
Look, anyone can slap together a building plan. But creating something that'll stand for generations while actually respecting the terrain? That takes a different approach entirely.
Based in Whistler, we've been working with the mountains long enough to know they don't bend to our will - we've gotta work with them. Every site tells us what it needs, and honestly, that's the fun part. Whether it's a family home tucked into the treeline or a full resort that needs to feel like it's always been there, we're all about making buildings that belong.
More About UsSix core services that cover pretty much everything you'd need in mountain architecture
Your home should fit you and the landscape. We'll design something that does both without compromise - no cookie-cutter solutions here.
Resorts need to handle heavy use while keeping that mountain magic intact. We've figured out how to balance both after years of trial and refinement.
Green building isn't just a buzzword for us - it's how we operate. Energy efficiency, local materials, minimal site disruption. Standard practice.
Old mountain structures have stories worth preserving. We bring them back to life while meeting modern standards - it's delicate work but rewarding.
A building shouldn't end at its walls. We plan how structures interact with surrounding terrain, vegetation, and views. It's architecture plus context.
We'll navigate the certification process with you - LEED, Passive House, whatever fits. The paperwork's annoying but the results matter.
Recent Work
This one was tricky - steep grade, exposed location, clients who wanted floor-to-ceiling glass everywhere. But when you work with the contours instead of fighting them, solutions appear.
We terraced the structure into three levels, used local stone for the base, and positioned the glass to capture views while blocking wind. The result? A home that feels sheltered and open at the same time. Earned LEED Gold certification too, which wasn't the goal but ended up being a natural outcome of how we built it.
View Full PortfolioOur Approach
Sustainability isn't some add-on feature we tack on at the end. It's baked into how we think about every project from day one.
We source materials locally when possible - not just for environmental reasons but because local timber and stone already understand the climate. We orient buildings to work with sun patterns and prevailing winds. We design for durability because the greenest building is the one that doesn't need replacing.
After working in this landscape for over 15 years, we've seen what works and what doesn't. Every project teaches us something new about how to build better, lighter, smarter. That knowledge goes into your project.
Our Sustainability Practices
Whether you're planning a family home or a full resort development, we'd love to take a look. First conversation's always free - no pressure, just talking about possibilities.
